The Importance Of Strength Training

Most people don't lift weights or practice any strength training later in life. Maybe they didn’t want big muscles when they were young, so why would they now?
But the irony is rich. Resistance training is so much more important after 55, and for reasons that are far more relevant and compelling than bulging biceps. Here are just three of the main reasons mature people should be doing it on a regular basis.
- It improves balance -- both when standing still and when moving, thus lowering the risk of falls.
- It fights depression, as well as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other chronic ailments.
- It eases arthritis pain, lowers blood pressure, and fights obesity.
Wait – that’s three great reasons in one! We have plenty more to share. Aside from those reasons, resistance training also increases lean body mass (aka more muscle) and is great for those who are diabetic or pre diabetic because of the positive effect it has on your metabolism, helping to regulate your glucose levels and keep them in a healthy range.
Don't just take my word for it, experience the difference that regular resistance training can have for yourself
